The episodes are the right length and include the questions that can held viewers that are unfamiliar with Hawaiian culture or history. It’s not preachy. It’s not claiming to be the one right answer. But it brings forward Native Hawaiian values, history and perspectives in an appropriate and powerful way.

I enjoyed the discussion especially because I was surprised at how brutal Kahekili was portrayed. Will we be removing his name from the Oahu highway? And the show also called the Ali’i of O’ahu ‘the boy king.’ I’d never heard Kahahana referred to that way.
I hope future episodes will deal more with the brains not just the brains of the Hawaiian people and chiefly classes
