Love the podcast, seriously. It was the first one I ever listened to and what got me hooked on listening to them in general. I’ve only been following for about 2-3 years but I’m definitely caught up and have listened to alllll the episodes. Hearing them speak on everything from relationships/marriage, family, kids, parents, all of it is amazing and highly respectable. Oh and not that they need me to but, shameless plug for the book, I’ve read that too… twice. Would recommend it to everybody. Devale and Khadeen, “DEADASS” - if y’all read this, y’all feel like older cousins who I actually want and like to take advice from and I wish y’all nothing but the best and continued blessings “CUT”

They address some important topics and offer helpful perspectives but so much of it gets lost in their interrupting of each other. They’ll even interrupt each other just to finish the other person’s recollection of an experience or their feelings on a situation. I’d suggest taking mental notes of your responses and saving them for when the other person’s genuinely done with their point. Also, understanding that every point being made doesn’t call for your wisdom, sometimes it’s okay to just let the other person share their feelings or experiences without interjecting. Doesn’t mean you’re not heard and valued.
Great podcast otherwise.
The story of Devale running out of the restaurant in the resort with the chair cushion on his head moved me to tears. It’s lovely to see another husband being a safe space for their partner.
