Stefanie is a kind person and this podcast is awesome. I loved her book Drunkish and I was really excited when she announced this project, as I love when she discusses her sobriety on her other shows. She does not gatekeep sobriety or shove any programs or specific philosophies in your face — she is really inclusive of everyone and of all types of sobriety. I think that is really helpful to people, because getting sober can seem so all encompassing, impossible, rigid and serious, especially at the beginning, and that makes the follow-through a lot more difficult. Her sense of humor and her casual, yet thoughtful approach to the topic and to the guests on her show, in my opinion, makes sobriety seem so much less monolithic and so much more achievable.
I’m not particularly the demographic for her shows as I am not a parent and do not plan to be, but I listen to all of them every week and have been since I got sober from alcohol myself, 6 years ago. Maybe this is strange, but I wish I could have had a mom like her when I was going through this. I think I would’ve made it out of the absolute hellscape of alcoholism a lot sooner than I did.
Anyway this is a great show and you should listen to it.

Love the Drunkish book, Stefanie’s story is so relatable and honest. It really helped me in my early weeks of sobriety. The podcast is the perfect follow up to the book. With each episode I can feel her giving the spotlight over to the guest little by little. This podcast is going to be unstoppable when she finds that sweet spot between relating and projecting.

Thank you for bringing your wit and relatability to our ears, Stefanie. I loved your book and meeting you in San Diego at the Writers Festival last year and I’m now hooked on this podcast. It also brings these amazing 90s nuggets like She’s All That actresses and 10 Things I Hate About You references. I’ve recommended it to all of my sober friends!
