Drop Your Buffs - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I have been a Buffy from the beginning and absolutely love the pod. I look forward to every episode and Patreon drop and I appreciate that they cover more than just Survivor. Episodes where they are super invested in the show tend to be my favorites, and find the differing perspective of most Probst disciples refreshing!
If you are new to the pod, I suggest dipping your toes in with a rewatch, interview, traitors recap, AJLT, tree mail bag or postmortem episode to fully appreciate these two at their best. I could listen to Evan and Sean talk about anything, their chemistry and humor is perfection. A true standout in my podcast lineup.

I look forward to listening to Sean and Evan every week! Far and away, this is my favorite pod I subscribe to. They really make me feel like I’m just kiki’ing and vibing with them.

Admittedly, they don’t just talk about the shows they’re recapping, but that’s exactly what I love about them!! They help me stay in tune with pop culture, other shows I might like. They make me laugh the whole time, from talking about their lives to playing Star or Starless. They’re honest and they actually critique the shows they watch. As a certified hater through-and-through, these are my people. You don’t just have to love all the content you consume… and they get that. Their instagram is so entertaining and their Patreon is so worth the money. 10/10 pod for me and always recommending it to my friends.

If you don’t take survivor too seriously, this is the place for you. You won’t hear Sean and Evan breaking down strategy, counting votes, etc. You will find snarky commentary that will crack you up. Here you are IN on the joke, especially if you join the Patreon and are privy to the live chats, close friends insta stories, and after dark (aka bonus) episodes. Do not go in expecting new era “fun” but instead an old school approach to consuming, laughing at, and even sometimes enjoying survivor.

As a new listener and fellow member of the alphabet gang, I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with this podcast! While I genuinely appreciate Shawn and Evans’ critiques and analysis of the show from a production standpoint, the negativity about the show itself and specially how season 46 is unfolding is quite tough to listen to.

I totally understand and agree with many of the production critiques they have mentioned of 46 / new era, and I know Sean and Evan verbatim said beginning of this season said they weren’t interested in covering the particular season but are still doing it anyway…. But I almost feel like it would be better if they didn’t because the energy feels a lil jaded (I say that with love here)! For example the whole thing about hunter in the latest could have just been edited out if we weren’t gonna get to hear your perspectives. Like I would much rather hear hunter analysis than hear y’all objectifying Bhanu??? That felt weird.

I first found this podcast through folks mentioning on reddit and then listening to the interviews with previous survivor legends like Parvati and Sandra, and I really found those shows a lot more exciting and awesome.

Maybe it would help to get more ex castaways to join the show for the recaps so they could share their thoughts and mix up the energy a bit.

Anyway will keep listening in hopes that things can improve
