Disturbed: True Horror Stories - Podcast Rankings and reviews

This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Actors do the voiceovers and there’s sound effects for the story so it’s easy to paint a creepy picture in your head. Many times I’ve listened to this at night while driving home and it’s given me goosebumps. I would definitely recommend it for any fans of horror.

I am a new listener, but I live in a family of podcasters and internet people, so I’m not new to the horror show concept. And while I’ve even been on my brothers podcast(THROBBING WITH HORROR), this is a whole new level of crazy. I’ve been on my guard since the first story and have listened to every post, including the teasers and sneak peeks. This is an amazing podcast, keep it up guys.

Disturbed has very interesting and scary stories and I love all the sound effects and voice actors. Disturbed has put in a lot of thought and effort into this show and if you’re looking for a new podcast I strongly recommend this one.

Finally a podcaster who listened to the audience 🙌🏼.. nice to have the old version back .. don’t change narrator… people follow not only for the stories but a voice they can listen to for hours..

I don’t know if the host of this podcast realizes it or not.. but pretty much all of the stories narrated from Reddit have already been read on another podcast called Let’s Not Meet. The stories were literally written SPECIFICALLY for the LNM podcast. That’s why most of the stories end with “let’s never meet again”, “you better hope we never meet again”, or some variant of “let’s not meet”. It’s very disappointing because I went to one of the first episodes of THIS podcast and three minutes in I knew how the story was going to end. I was hoping that I had found a new podcast to binge listen to. Even the most recent episodes (April 2025) have stories that have already been read on the Let’s Not Meet podcast.

Like I said, I’m unsure if the host/creator of this podcast is aware that they are plagiarizing the Let’s Not Meet podcast. The LNM podcast has been around for YEARS so most of these stories were told before this podcast even started. It would be truly awful if they are aware and continue doing it anyway. It makes the scary voice sound even more corny.

PLEASE COME UP WITH YOUR OWN, ORIGINAL content. Be authentic. STOP reading stories from Reddit or find a new Reddit thread to get stories from. Listen to the LNM podcast to be sure the story hasn’t already aired there because the thread you are boosting these stories from is specifically for the LNM podcast. If a story ends with some variation of “let’s not meet” or even mentions the word “meet” then it was written for the Let’s Not Meet podcast.

I truly hope you guys are not knowingly republishing these stories. Like.. “oh well, they’re on Reddit so we can read them on our podcast if we want”. It’s slimy and gross to copy another person’s work.

The premise of this podcast is good, but it is utterly and absolutely destroyed by the number of ads that are programmed. It makes it unlistenable. I would have subscribed and continued to listen where it not for the ads. Sad.
