A cheerful, velvety host with a public radio feel and a bright enthusiasm for the stories of jazz artistry. Tales and trivia are skillfully woven with relevant performances. Very pleasant to listen to in the foreground or the background.

I 'discovered' this podcast about 3 months ago. Truly enjoy them & and always learn something from each show. It's a fun day when I hear a player on the show who I was not familiar with and then come home to look them up and listen to other of their recordings. Each of his podcasts have interesting themes too! From bell weather players to self taught jazz musicians - and so many pods to choose from. Please do give Larry Saidman’s Discovering Jazz a listen - you’ll discover so much!

I discovered Discovering Jazz by accident and dang was that a fortuitous mishap! Larry has been keeping me company at work for several months now with his interesting collections of songs, themed episodes and edifying background information on jazz of all kinds. I’ve downloaded a bunch of albums I didn’t know about and learned about a ton of new jazz artists. Its a treat that I greatly look forward to. Thanks Larry! You’re a mad cool jazz cat!
