The sisters have outdone themselves in this very well researched and produced podcast about the very pervasive issue of the abuse of adults within the Catholic Church. It is not easy to listen to but should be required listening for every Catholic. We cannot continue to turn the other way when lives are being harmed like this. Thank you for this amazing and prophetic undertaking.

Beautifully done. Incredibly powerful and nuanced view into what abuse looks like and how institutions and other people justify looking the other way so often. Difficult to hear but absolutely necessary for anyone who finds themselves in an institution where abuse has and continues to happen.

As a leader of an apostolate in the Church, I have never been so simultaneously excited and heartbroken listening to a podcast. I am so eternally grateful for the detailed explanation of how this festers in communities and what can actually be done to stop this in a real way that goes beyond the bad apple theory. A vital service to the church (love to you both from a friend in Tulsa!)

I am so grateful for the Sisters of the Little Way and their important mission. As someone who has experienced spiritual abuse, I understand how soul crushing it is. I believe spiritual abuse is the chief reason that so many Catholics have fallen away, and the most important issue we must tackle as a Church.
This podcast is difficult for me to listen to, as it conjures up treatment that I didn’t deserve and reminds me that I have been powerless and have not seen justice in a system that protects itself. But these sisters and the experts who have contributed to the podcast give me hope. It is very well produced.
I have shared with others and have been surprised by how it resonated with people I didn’t expect. I have tried to broach this subject before with less success, but something about the sisters’ story has broken through. Maybe religious sisters are easier to believe. Descent Into Light gives words to people’s painful and confusing experiences, helping them understand what has happened to them. Maybe this is the beginning of real change.
