These two have found a great niche in a very competitive genre. I love that this includes the hypocrisy of religious people getting caught behaving horribly. They have a style that is fun and easy to listen. The stories flow well and are thoughtful. They tell them in a way that feels like two friends sharing stories over coffee, ice tea, or an adult drink.

I heard about this Podcast when I Google searched a specific story. I saw the podcast art with the words “Deadly Faith”. As a person obsessed and fascinated with cults and religious crimes I decided to listen on a whim. I immediately didn’t know how I felt but noticed about halfway deep I was listening intently and laughing super hard at Laci and Lola’s quick wit and super sharp punny sense of humor. As a person that appreciates female-lead podcasts, I was able to find quick contrasts to others of the like. Laci and Lola remind me a LOT of Karen and Georgia from “My Favorite Murder”, but almost like a younger version. That isn’t a dig at any of these women I mentioned. They’re all equally amazing and funny. I like the combination of girl power, true crime and comedy. I’ve added this to my favorites and I’m eager to do a deep-dive starting at episode one as I work overnight shifts and have lots of opportunities to listen. Thanks, ladies! Keep up the amazing work!

The stories are good, and both of these ladies are good storytellers, but what keeps me coming back is the perspective they bring being deconstructed from the church and having healed from past traumas. They are trauma-informed, open to learning and having honest, vulnerable discussions. They aren’t just surface-level reading from Google searches, but offering reflective insight into the “why”s and root problems of these dark crimes. I appreciate you, ladies!

I enjoyed the pod. Not my normal subject matter but really enjoyed the conversational manner and honest reactions. Looking forward to more. Your #0 intro pod was also a good hook. I have lots in common with both of y’all.

It’s a cool idea for a podcast, and I somewhat liked it. But I just keep thinking how loudly uninformed they are. The Anthony Todt episode - they are so insistent that no one could ever overdose on Benadryl. Which is very, very wrong. The same episode, they blatantly do not understand the Christian Apocalypse. Do they do any research on their own topics?

Seriously, you’re talking about people’s violent deaths, and often religious extremism. Can you at least TRY to take the subject matter seriously? I can’t imagine being someone who loved one of the victims involved and listening to these hosts gigglesnort their way through their recounting of how my friend or relative died.
The cases are very interesting and I appreciate learning about the religion angle, but the delivery is extremely off putting.
