This used to be one of my favorite “nerdy” / tech podcasts but the current host sounds like he’s completely checked out. Extremely low energy and lack of interest. The more recent guests will ramble forever with no interjection from the host until I just tune out. Production quality has gone down as well since the new host.

I really appreciated the balanced approach to this investigation and reporting. I am a conservative and a Christian who saw and liked “Sound of Freedom”, but always found Tim Ballard’s relentless self-promotion to be a massive red flag. Your reporting has helped me understand what my gut was telling me. The mission to rescue sex traffic victims is a worthy and honourable mission. It’s a shame Tim Ballard has so many personal flaws.

This was a great podcast, it is worth going through the back catalogue. LOOK UP the final episode, February 23, The End of Vice. One of the greatest listens I have had in a while. Heart breaking, entertaining - quite a tale from the inside of a media platform.

This was a gem of a show - I looked forward to new episodes weekly. Highly recommend listening to the back catalogue of episodes. If you can find their final episodes online (The End of Vice), it’s more than worth the listen. It’s a tell all from the reporter perspective with many of the team sharing insights regarding why Vice failed. Very best of luck to the host and all the cohosts.

As someone else has noted, moving to twitch has tanked the quality of the podcast, if only on the technical side. How hard is it to keep your cat away from your keyboard and mute your computer’s notifications… also missing the old host, Ben Makuch. Not sure why he was replaced so suddenly.
On top of that, the show has slowly but surely moved away from purely cyber security and tech topics to a lot of politically minded content. While I often agree with their views, I don’t come to this podcast to hear about politics. There are far better ones out there.
Hate to say it but I will unsubscribe.

The lack of effort to do even some basic editing or post production work just takes the enjoyment right out of it. Mistakes galore ranging from repeating script lines, technical issues, and background noise from phone/discord alerts occasionally pinging off. Marry that with some occasionally awful audio quality, potentially from the lack of post production, and you get a podcast that generally covers interesting topics but not with the “natural” feel of a casual discussion with friends as the host may want it to feel. Instead, it feels as though the host does not care about their listeners at all, and will leave in every distraction to remind you of the fact.
I’m going to give it a few more episodes before I bail, and if things change I’ll update the review, but for now I’d check out some other similar podcasts unless there is a topic here that you just need to explore.
