Kate Baker’s narrations are simply superb. I just listened to her read The Coffee Machine. Her various voices were so fun to listen to. This has become my weekly go-to podcast. It’s great to see Clarkesworld continue to publish fascinating stories.

i have been listening to these stories to fall asleep to every night for the last 7 years, and kate baker's beautiful mellifluous voice is the only thing that has ever cured my lifelong insomnia. not that the stories are boring!!! just soothing to listen to. i love the wide range of stories, and especially the incredible scifi coming out of china recently. please never stop the podcast!!!

Not every story is for every listener and that’s cool, it’s the same way with all the short story anthology podcasts. I happen to like the pared-down, single narrator style of each episode because my goal is to fall asleep while listening. That being said, I don’t love the narrator’s tendency to lapse into an off-kilter cadence that features a lot of random mid-sentence pauses. If you’re sensitive to the rhythm of words and the flow of speech within the context of storytelling, consider yourself warned.

Kate & the team do an amazing job, offering us compelling stories & spellbinding narration. I really look forward to these dropping, and they add a lot of value to our lives as listeners and fans of good storytelling. Thank you, Kate & team!
