Dr. Matthew Levitt has perhaps the deepest knowledge about Hezbollah of anyone in or out of government. He demonstrates in this podcast how the group’s political and military wings cannot be distinguished and indeed how the Hezbollah network spans the globe. He is a master of the group’s origins with Iran’s revolutionaries and the group’s close but sometimes vacillating ties with actors in Syria, Lebanon, and throughout the Middle East. Anyone interested in Islamist militancy, Middle East dynamics, and the discrete, targeted actions it will take to ensure American interests will want to subscribe to this profoundly informative, engaging podcast.

No one knows more about Hezbollah than Levitt—this podcast is long overdue. I use his interactive map and timeline frequently for my research, and it’s been a fantastic resource. Great trailer too.

This is surely the best podcast out there for anyone who wants to learn about Hezbollah. Matt Levitt and his crack team of research assistants and interns have really hit the ball out of the park on this one. I hear there is going to be an episode on Mohammed Hamdar’s arrest in Peru which uses real audio clips from Peruvian news programs! I look forward to listening!
