Ascend - The Great Books Podcast - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I’m working my way through Homer’s Iliad and am finding this podcast to be a great resource. I have had the Iliad on my TBD list for a long time but always found excuses to read other books on my bookcase. I’ve been following along with podcast and it’s been very motivational. Thank you for putting this podcast out there.

I have been looking for a guide to the great books for quite some time and believe this to be the answer. They go slowly enough for these classics to be digestible and fit into anyone’s schedule. If you have a desire to finally read the foundational works of Western Civilization, tune in!

Ascend is a great show that takes the time to dive deep into the books allowing them the space they need to really be absorbed. The conversation is allows engaging and you will be better for it as well having read the books along with them.

Decided to mix some of the great books into my reading list last year and knew it would be beneficial to do so with a podcast to guide me. So glad I found this one! The hosts are a great example of the intellectual revival we should be having thanks to the internet and podcasting. I was pleasantly surprised that they’re involved Catholics as well.
