A phenomenal podcast! At this point is should go without saying but Elyse is consistently a stand out in everything she does, her approach keeps the show moving and light. But, all of the host’s chemistry is palpable and truly electric. They don’t stop the entire time, beat after beat they leave you entertained and wanting more. I’d say the fact the hosts are writers and comedians is what makes feels like the perfect mix of a game show and a talk show.

I have been a fan of these four folks for years and am thus far loving this podcast. They are all funny and have an enviable rapport with one another. I have some thoughts that may be worth pondering as they continue to produce episodes.
I think it is easy to underestimate how much work Elyse is putting into each of these episodes given the difficulty of writing unique questions. I would argue there are different kinds of trivia, and the distinction I would make for this comment is between general knowledge trivia and what you might call “fun fact” trivia.
In my opinion, general knowledge trivia lends itself more to an actual trivia game show. That’s not to say those type of shows don’t also have fun fact questions, but they might be just as likely to ask “What is the capital of Portugal?” That type of question is tough for a show where comedy is prioritized, and I think the most recent episode’s question about the number of adult teeth humans have illustrates that (as well as the golfing on the moon one, though in fairness that was an American feat and Elyse is from Canada).
Fun fact trivia is where this show could shine; there are definitely some already in the mix (for instance, the one about the group of pugs was great), and there are even some where they may already know the answer (and, yes, maybe should wait for the others to try before giving it away). I wonder if it might help for the questions to be entirely fun fact-based—especially to the extent of “Who the heck would ever know that?” Much like a “you know it when you see it” scenario, a good fun fact is something that when you hear it sounds not only interesting but either unexpectedly or extra-specifically so, which could be fun to lean into.
For example: Which classic video game character has their own protein? Why, it’s Sonic the Hedgehog of course!
Anyway, I hope this review isn’t annoying—I truly love this podcast!

This show brands itself as "a podcast for smart people." Sadly, it is more like a podcast made by people who think they are smarter than they are. I have no doubt that they are actually witty, intelligent, funny people in real life, but I haven't hear great wit, smart trivia, or laugh-out-loud comedy yet. What I do hear is three guys (and a patient moderator) talking over each other trying to convince the others that they just said the funniest thing. I also hear a lot of "I feel like..." Seriously, if you want to get hammered listen to this podcast and take a shot every time one of them prefaces a "joke" or observation with "I feel like." As for me, I feel like... I'll be looking for a different witty trivia podcast.
