Where do I begin? Alison’s calming voice, Andrea’s contagious laugh, or the rich storehouse of knowledge, inspiration, and encouragement? I am so thankful I found this podcast. I have listened to several homemaking and cooking from scratch podcasts throughout the last few years but they always left me still wanting. The Ancestral Kitchen Podcast, however, has deepened my knowledge of what real, nourishing food looks like. It’s challenged my thinking in regards to sourcing locally (even in a desert), going against the grain of society (my family thinks we’re “extreme”), and even the trouble with modern consumerism. What I love most about this podcast is that it’s all delivered in a fashion that would never make me feel bad for not “doing it all” but rather, inspires me to take one more step in the direction that I want for my family’s health. Thank you, ladies, for the laughs, the inspiration, and making ancestral eating and living practical to the everyday family living in a modern world.

This podcast has been my favorite for a while now. It is the perfect blend of educating, inspiring, welcoming, and comforting. The way the hosts interact is peaceful and fun. The content interesting enough to keep my scattered mom brain engaged and soothing enough to be a place of rest and refreshment for my overstimulated mind. It really is a safe place to learn and take the next step without feeling like you’re doing it all wrong if you’re not “perfect.” Thank you both! I love feeling like I’m getting to sit at your table while listening to your fascinating conversation.

This is, hands down, my favorite podcast. I’m a dietitian with a long-term interest in and appreciation for ancestral, heritage, and historical foodways. Alison and Andrea consistently address fascinating, compelling topics with nuance and sensitivity, curiosity and intelligence. Thank you for sharing these conversations with us! Consider me one of your many devoted fans, who is working to improve the health of the people and the land around me.
P.S. If you haven’t already, purchase the cookbooks! They’re a wealth of inspiration that also serve to support the podcast if you can’t join the membership. Alison’s spelt cookbook has revolutionized my bread baking, and for that I am truly grateful.

I began listening to this podcast one year ago and in that time I have made 100% rye sourdough bread, sauerkraut, tibicos, liver, beef and lamb heart, and so much more, all for the first time. I love how practical you both are with clear steps we can take towards a more ancestral kitchen and lifestyle. It feels so much like I have you here with me in my kitchen cheering me on- Thank you for all of the love and care you have put into this podcast!
