Ahmed Urur is an Islamic scholar and educator who completed a seven-year programme of study at the Faculty of Shariah of the Islamic University of Madinah beginning in 2011 and graduating in 2018. His studies there covered a wide spectrum of Islamic sciences including fiqh, usul al-fiqh, theology and hadith. Ahmed Urur currently serves as Director of Education and Youth Coordinator at a community centre in Toronto, Canada, where he delivers regular classes, Friday sermons and youth-counselling programmes. He also leads foundational study programmes titled “First Step” which cover topics such as ‘Aqidah 101’, ‘Fiqh of Taharah’, ‘Salah 101’, and the Day of Judgment, tailored for adults aged 18 and older. In his teaching and outreach Ahmed Urur emphasises the importance of sound worship, correct ritual practices, spiritual mindfulness and youth engagement. He bridges traditional Islamic scholarship with the needs of young Muslims in the diaspora, focusing on clarity, accessibility and practical application of knowledge.
