One of my favorite tech podcasts all things tech and what impacts tech (including regulation), I appreciate not censoring or hiding relevant facts that impact our daily tech lives. Keep it up, we are a world of diverse opinions and views, those that want people to hide think they can craft a world only for them.

Updated review. Still one of my favorites. I sometimes listen live, then to the members bootleg, and then the regular episode. Sometimes, I miss them live, but still listen to the bootleg and regular episodes. If you’re looking for a podcast that only talks about how great Apple is and nothing else, this isn’t the podcast for you. If you’re looking for honest opinions about Apple hardware and software from people that have been using both for a very long time, tune in. Yes, they do sometimes talk about things going on in their life and in society. They also talk a lot about cars. :)

Show quality has declined over the last two years. Marco is checked out after a botched Overcast update and other life interests; he never prepares for the show and it’s just an endless stream of negativity. Casey’s contributions used to be grounded but not so anymore. John still delivers but he desperately needs a foil who can challenge him.
Love these boys and hope they can reflect on the quality of their latest episodes.

In the past, I eagerly anticipated each episode of ATP, a podcast that once engaged in insightful discussions about technology, gadgets, and the latest trends in the technology industry. Its unique blend of profound analysis, insider knowledge, and relatable commentary set it apart.
Regrettably, in recent months, the podcast has strayed significantly from its original focus and has become a platform for protracted political rants.
While it is natural for technology and politics to intersect—issues such as data privacy, AI ethics, and tech regulations inherently involve political considerations—the podcast has taken this connection to an extreme. Episodes are now dominated by personal grievances, ideological posturing, and political debates that are often unrelated to technology. It is disheartening to witness thoughtful discussions on innovation being supplanted by repetitive, one-sided commentary on broader political issues.
This shift has alienated many long-time listeners. The podcast’s ability to make complex technology topics accessible and engaging was its hallmark.
Of course, politics should not be entirely excluded from the podcast’s content—it is their platform, after all. However, the balance has been severely skewed.

I used to love this podcast. Never missed an episode for almost 10 years, as it was a must-listen, fantastic blend of insightful tech discussions, industry trends, and the guys were just fun to listen to. They had a great dynamic, the analysis was sharp, and I always walked away feeling like I had genuinely learned something.
But over time (esp since Nov ’24 election), the show has completely derailed. What was once a tech podcast has turned into a soapbox for political rants, virtue signaling, and off-topic diatribes that have nothing to do with technology. I kept listening, hoping they’d get back on track, but instead, it’s only gotten worse. Now, every episode is filled with self-important monologues and ideological posturing, drowning out any semblance of meaningful tech content. I guess they forgot that at least half of their listeners side with one political party, because clearly they don’t care about losing half their listeners.
It’s incredibly frustrating to see a once-great podcast lose its way like this. If I wanted endless political commentary, I’d listen to a show dedicated to that. What I wanted was thoughtful tech analysis—the very thing that made this podcast stand out in the first place. Sadly, that’s all but disappeared. I can’t recommend this podcast to anyone who actually cares about technology. Thank goodness John is on other pods, because he’s the only one worth listening to and you can catch him on other REAL tech shows.
