Impressive that two guys with such high level academic credentials can make such a fun and accessible podcast. I highly recommend Not So Quiet on the Western Front to anyone with an interest in WW1, especially if you are a fan of Carlin’s Blueprint for Armageddon. I have never joined a podcast’s patreon before but I will for this one.

I must share my overwhelming enthusiasm for this podcast. The presenters aside from being clear, concise and technical experts are very entertaining and informative. I recommend this podcast to anyone seriously interested in the events and backstories of WW2. Bravo

Great podcast. Love the detailed knowledge that these guys bring to bear. Learnt a lot of new things that I did not know about before, despite extensive reading around the subject, for example the Graze fuse. The hosts do a particularly good job of explaining the development of battlefield technology from year to year.
Fellas: let’s have an episode on the naval blockade please. Not much fighting happens but it’s cited by most historians as one of the key reasons for the end of the war in 1918.

This is by the far the best podcast when it comes to WW1. I love listening to Dan Hill and Dr. Spencer on their knowledge of the WW1. For me this podcast mean a lot to me my favorite episode is the battle of the Somme I had four family members that fought in the Great War and one of my family member fought on the battle of Somme and survived the first day of the battle so thank you very much for talking about it truly means a lot to me. Thank you so much doing this podcast and helping me have a better understanding of this conflict and different battles on the western front and learning about the British soldiers and the officers and the events that happen. Once again thank you for doing this.
