I can’t begin to guess how many times I’ve re-listened to this podcast from start to finish (enough to be able to sing along with the ad jingles). I have told so many friends abt this show since I found it, and everyone who has taken my advice has thanked me for it.
To anyone who might complain about the timing of episodes, I simply say this-I’d rather have an episode of a podcast this good constantly meeting (and exceeding) expectations than 10 episodes of one meeting a weekly timetable and adhering to a formula that grows stale simply for the sake of content.
Also, follow the Patreon. It’s worth every penny.

For the first episode or 2 I wasn’t quite sure why people loved this show and kept recommending it. It seemed kind of funny but nothing too special, but I kept listening. Then there was a moment in the third episode that floored me and it all came together and it became my favorite thing.
Unbelievably great show.

Valley Heat is a fun witty slice-of-life podcast about the Rancho Equestrian District of Burbank. It is like watching several train wrecks at a time (In a good way). I am glad to know where to get a used foosball table in the greater Burbank area. I hope it continues beyond season 2.

Doug plays everything like he’s narrating live, but the narrative is actually great writing. He creates so many unique quirks, but they are always surprising, never becoming easy catch phrases that ruin comedy. The Alt Cheers theme is called “Friends,” when he’s reading copy for “high handlebar” motorcycles he never says “chopper,” and Phil’s transition lenses seem pretty BTK but he never says “serial killer.” I wish this show renewed more often…! (and, Duct Tape Artisans do not need ampersands)
