The stories are spooky and the skeptics make me laugh trying to make sense of occurrences that have no explanation. That music that is played with that haunting melody and beautiful voice really compliments the atmosphere of dread. Thank you for giving me a podcast that I look forward to listening to and that stays with me.

The stories being told are very interesting however, like many reviews before mine, I think the inclusion of “skeptics” and “believers” is a distraction from the topic of each episode. It is as if the podcaster thought that in order to have a valid podcast he had to include a two extra (extraneous) voices which would either completely invalidate the experience of the person telling their story or make some kind of unverifiable claim which would live completely within their belief system. Honestly it mad me so irritated once I realized that every single episode would be this way.
No one is expecting this show to “prove” or “disprove” the existence of the supernatural. Nobody wants to hear two completely contradictory opinions that have no bearing on what is being said by the first hand accounts because they never actually have any interaction with these opinions or the opportunity to rebut them. It becomes more like a case study of the absurd than anything meaningful that the listeners are probably hoping to find their own experiences or curiosity about these phenomena within.
Pick a side Danny and ditch the peanut gallery please! I’m getting the sense that many of these podcasts were designed as if Neil deGrasse Tyson were the audience. Guess what? Skeptics are not your target audience and the people who tune in are open to believing or want to know more. Go listen to Euphomet or OtherWorld for a more respectful and interesting approach to what essentially is a kind of ethnographic exploration of the paranormal. It’s much more honest and much less about trying to unmake the reality that someone is telling us they experienced.

I LOVE this podcast so much. When the new seasons come out, my soul reaches a new level of happy. The interview style, the way Danny listens in and interviews? Amazing. Danny is one of the best journalists in the paranormal field and as an American listener, Danny proves time and time again that Brits do paranormal best. Period.

Danny has a gift for bringing out the best in his subjects. I sit somewhere between skeptic and believer, though I lean skeptic. I enjoy the experts’ input and love the format. There are too many ads, but I just skip them. No big deal. Gotta pay the bills.

The Halloween countdown sounded interesting, but it’s just barely a minute of story sandwiched by ads that last at least as twice as long as the tepid story being retold. Money grab much? Disappointing and surprising that a show under the BBC banner would pull such a cheap trick. Unfollowed.
