U Up?

I guess you can only write one review for one podcast.. gotta delete my other very high rating but I REALLY liked this episode from sept 9. Idk why I’m surprised every time they have a super nuanced, open, honest dialogue where they aren’t afraid to disagree w each other/the writer, but this one stood out! The tennis conversation- I hadn’t caught all the red flags in the guy as Jared did, and as a woman that’s a wake up call! I also love the idea that scaring away a date shouldn’t be such a fear and that it will happen regardless. This podcast has been there for me since 2022 when I was dumped, I’m now in a relationship of a year but still consider this my absolute favorite.

Just want to say I love the pod. Also, if you run away from a high energy puppy, they will think you are playing and jump on you. Jared moving toward Ron is actually what you want to do. You have to be assertive with what you want from a dog. Stay calm. Don’t pet or talk to him when he’s excited. Let him calm down and then reward the calm. A daily hour walk does wonders for high energy dogs.

The times I’ve listened to an episode and wondered if J&J have somehow stolen my own thoughts is extremely high. I love the real life perspectives, curiosity and empathy of the hosts, and pure gold comedy of both! The latest episodes intro “How do I date when I’m home for the holidays?” really resonated with me (btw I love the long intros- they’re my favorite part of the episode!). Dating in my 30’s and now 40’s can feel isolating and Jared and Jordana really validated my experiences. Good for all ages, all genders, and even good for those people who don’t know who you are Jared!

I love this show so much. It always makes me laugh, provides solid advice, and has got me through some really dark times. Lately, however, it has become a bit repetitive with Jared’s dating concerns and inability to commit. At first I really felt for him but at this point it has become triggering in some ways. He sounds like all the men I’ve dated who bailed after date 5 seemingly out of nowhere. I no longer get what I came for with the podcast and may take a break. I hope Jared is able to find what he needs in a partner!

I’ve been a longtime listener and subscriber for years, and honestly, Jordanas recent response to listener feedback left a really bad taste in my mouth. I first noticed a growing lack of empathy on Oversharing, but hearing the response to concerns about the subscription price increase of essentially “We know times are tough but production costs money, & you can just leave” felt incredibly dismissive toward the people who have supported the platform for years. What’s especially disappointing is that there doesn’t seem to be any option for loyal subscribers who simply didn’t want or need the added video component to keep their existing pricing. Instead of acknowledging why longtime listeners might feel frustrated, the tone came across cold, defensive, and out of touch. Part of why I originally became such a fan was because Jordana always seemed level-headed, relatable, and thoughtful in the way she approached people and conversations. Lately though, the delivery, tone, and responses to feedback feel very different. As someone who genuinely supported and enjoyed the content for years, it’s disheartening. At this point, it may just be time to move on and find podcasts and hosts that still make listeners feel valued rather than dismissed.

UPDATE: Changing to one star. Cant believe Jordana told someone to get rid of their cat because their girlfriend didn’t get along with it. This is extremely irresponsible advice given the fact that our shelters are overflowing and cats and dogs often get killed when they’re brought to shelters because of the capacity problem. Pets are a lifetime commitment, not something you dispose of at the first sign of a fixable issue. You clearly have zero understanding of owning a pet. Old review: This podcast is a wonderful combination of solid, insightful dating advice and entertainment. This is the only podcast I won’t miss an episode of. As someone in a LTR, I love hearing them go deep on relationships. Jordana’s insights from her marriage are so helpful. I love her reflection on things like compromise versus settling and her honesty in discussing challenges in her marriage but also how she knew he was “the one.” Similar for Jared, it’s so helpful to hear how he knew past relationships weren’t it, and whether he has any regrets in ending things. Would love to hear more in these areas! One piece of feedback: please keep in mind that not all women in their mid-twenties and older are out to find a husband as quickly as possible. I know this was a huge priority for Jordana but some of the viewpoints come across as regressive. Not all women are on a mission to lock down a man and many women have the same fears and hesitancy around dating that Jared has!
