Compelling, authentic, relevant. The stories told - and lived, today - connect us to a reality we can’t ignore if we want to move forward. Greed of a few put the many in a losing situation; racism and all “other-isms” are the rusty but easy tools used to keep the many from truly seeing each other. Georg Goehl helps reveal the qualities of heart, soul, commitment and fearlessness through varied stories & strategies, mostly told by an amazing network of women organizers. Thank you, People’s Action, for supporting their journeys home to brave the vulnerabilities of true connection and their commitment to doing the hard work we need to gain a just society for all.

I listened to every episode hoping this podcast would change my mind. It didn’t. Just more coddling and excuse-making for the white rural culture that cares about no one but themselves. I know, I came from that culture (just like more than half of people currently in the “urban liberal bubble”, btw). This endeavor is based on naive assumptions. To say that these people listen to Hannity et al because they are the only voices speaking to white rural America is to get it backwards: they listen because those are the voices speaking specifically to *only* white rural America. They are not brainwashed. Toxic conservative media exists because it is what these people actually want. It indeed reflects their values. It’s time the rest of us stop making excuses for this hateful culture and actually focus on our own interests.
