This is one of the craziest stories I’ve heard. The storytelling has been excellent. The creators have done a fantastic job of delivering a compelling and complicated story that is so crazy it can only be true! Having strong, clear narration with personal accounts to add various perspectives along the way, The Unborn is a wild ride that is entertaining and intriguing. The creators have done an excellent job with providing the facts and details of the events while still providing an entertaining experience. I looked forward to more episodes!!

While the story is captivating, the constant background sounds and loud effects accompanying nearly every word spoken are highly distracting. They are unnecessary and detract from the clarity of the conversation.

The story is interesting and I feel so bad for Jared but the podcast itself is overproduced. The background noises are so excessive. There are so many ups and downs to the story then adding constant background sounds and effects makes it an overwhelming experience. I expect the background music and sounds in the intro or first few mins of a podcast but I’m several episodes in and the sounds have been non-stop throughout. I hope the creators of this podcast try again with another season/story. Other than the background effects, I think they did pretty good for their first podcast.

Enjoying the story but we need to remember this is a real person with real mental health concerns. I feel the way they are talking about Kristy villainizes her without being very compassionate about the mental health plight. It seems outdated. We need to address concerns about the lack of mental health resources and affordable treatments in America! The struggles are all too real and growing all the time.

1. STOP with the background music and effects. It’s very distracting. This is a podcast, not a movie or tv show. The information being told is the most important part, not the sound effects. No one needs to hear the overly loud sounds of a bottle opening, texting, construction work, etc. 🙄
2. Slow down, you have time to present this information. The host sounds very rushed when presenting information. In addition to the high paced background music, this creates unnecessary tension. Again, NO need to rush.
3. Change your formatting. There are minutes where the interview asks questions in a controlled manner. In others, the interviewed interrupts someone speaking (like a quick sound bite) and it gets confusing especially when this continually happens. Add in the loud music that covers up basically everything, and it quickly gets annoying.
Overall 2/5. I found myself looking forward to the commercials just to get a break from the above.

The never ending sound effects under the voices of all involved are awful.
If they talk about someone who lived on a farm, there are chickens clucking.
When talking about a fire, there are fire sound effects. The music is distracting (recurring banjo music? I don’t know) and out of synch with the pace and rhythm of the story.
I made it 11 minutes and had to stop - the story might be great, but the production is awful and makes this cringey and unlistenable.
