I am a huge Jessica DeFino fan and subscriber. She completely changed my perspective on beauty culture. Discovering I <3 mess through this podcast has been such a blessing! These two cultural critics are hilarious to listen to and more than that, their takes on current culture will make you laugh and think. Imagine - intelligent cultural analysis! A podcast without ads! Authentic voices!! Highly recommend!!

I love the analysis these two bring to subjects that many people consider "unserious"/insignificant. Pop culture can inform us so much about society as a whole and these two have great insights.

This is the only place I get my culture and celebrity news. Jess and Emily are incredibly knowledgeable and bring so much wit and flavor to the wild world of beauty and fashion. They are a necessary voice in a capitalist industry but are so fun to listen to you won’t even realizing you are learning something new. Can’t wait to hear more!

I really love Jessica’s writing and want to love this podcast! Rn it feels pretty undercooked - like two friends you overhear talking to each other at brunch. Sometimes smart but also doesn’t seem to be thought out and not considering the listener (often dives straight into stuff without explaining for those who would not know the context). Has potential but needs more structure, more consideration of audience, and even more thought put into the hot takes. Unless this is meant to be a mainly silly podcast - in which case, okay cool, but then probably needs to then lean fully into that with the description and branding to capture the right audience.
