The Next Level - Podcast Rankings and reviews

No matter how busy my week is, I do NOT miss this podcast. The analysis and insight is fantastic, but what I really appreciate about this show in particular is that JVL, Sarah, and Tim don’t leave their passion at the door. They wear their hearts on their sleeve and allow me to do the same in this crazy, scary time, but in a way that’s smart and productive. I’m so appreciative of their hard work.

You guys ARE the real deal bulwark of our democracy, thank you.

One of my favorite political podcasts to listen to because it’s not just doom and gloom- they are actually funny too.

I just listen to the 1860s are back episode and the part about Sarah fan girling- so funny. I was laughing so hard i almost woke up my sleeping kids. we’ve all had horrible awkward moments so thanks for sharing. 😂

Love her. Smart, concise, thoughtful, funny…I look forward to her episodes.

I find it interesting and hopeful to listen to what would have formally been known as “conservative” voices and see them align with “progressive and liberal” overlapped values. Especially when those voices are rooted in reason, research (Sarah Longwell’s focus groups are a treasure) and humor. If the Trump years have taught me anything, it’s to be careful about my own “us versus them” thinking (there was a time when I actually thought Mitt Romney was a threat to America… the stakes were smaller then and it was a luxury to think like that. Coming out of the chaos (and seeing it’s attempts to revive), it has been nice to gain new partners and to recognize that conservatism doesn’t actually mean hating the “other” (and nor does my own progressive ideology).

I discovered this podcast via Tim’s interview on Pod Save America. I really enjoy it but the audio quality is terrible! It sounds like they’re speaking into their iPhone mics. Please please invest in better recording equipment! This is a great show but not sure I can keep listening with this current level of sound quality.
