Stumbled on this, and liked it far more than I would have expected for something as unsexy as gas. Informative in an efficient and interesting way—good mix of interviews and reporting to synthesize the info to fill in gaps and keep the story moving.

I also love things like this that help me see common things, like a gas station, in new and interesting ways, especially the human stories hidden within them. Hoping that will be a common thread for future episodes—make something I almost don’t even notice anymore and certainly don’t think about often/ever more interesting and visible and expanding my understanding the economic intersections (e.g. gas, candy, ice, price wars between stations, etc). Nice start. Look forward to future installments.

A quick dive into every day curiosities that we would otherwise take for granted. It plays like insightful questions that a kid might ask their parent, that Mom/Dad ends up punting because who actually knows the answers to these trivialities? This writer does, of course.

Unlike a few podcasts where the host or hosts spend way too much time gabbing among themselves and thinking they’re funny, this new podcast informs in a straightforward way and includes relevant interviews with people involved with the subject matter. Another go-to podcast for me!

The premise of the show is that everyday things can be very interesting through the lens of economics. The format is straight to the point without oversimplification. I love the format & premise and hope they never change. It reminds me of some similar short form economics podcasts except with better execution and a heavier focus of topics that I will see on a day to day basis.

I have enjoyed this show in the past, but recently listened to an episode relating to an industry I work in. The episode did a terrible job of explaining the issues and was very inaccurate. Now when the show covers an industry I know nothing about, I have to assume they are also getting it wrong. If you want to be entertained, the show is great. Just don’t expect it to be accurate.
