Love this podcast so far! It is a quick but impactful study of God’s Word for me. Love that there is not any fluff or wasted time. Just straight to the Scripture and then a short commentary.

These guys do a great job of breaking down the scripture and giving real application. The fact that it is laser focused and to the point keeps the scripture top of mind all day.

I regularly listen to Joby Martin’s sermons as well as the Deepen podcast (both of which I love and have helped me grow a ton) as supplements to my own study and learning from my home church in North Carolina so I was excited to hear about this podcast to add to my morning routine to prepare me for the day. And while I appreciate the daily scripture reading and brief discussion that is aimed toward forming men into more of the likeness of Jesus, I worry Jesus is being lost in the messaging and that the focus feels more like returning men to the early-mid 20th century western image of a “manly” man who is ready for a World War at any moment. I agree that self-defense violence can be the righteous response in the appropriate scenarios and that loving God with heart, soul, mind and strength means stewarding all aspects of your health well, but I worry some of the discussions will prompt men to respond in anger/violence and deem it righteous in situations they have self-determined to be anti-Christian without guidance from other believers or scripture. Where is the discussion of loving your neighbor as yourself or the fruit of the spirit? I find this podcast only incites anger and aggression within me to start the day unfortunately despite the excellent men leading this podcast. I know it’s only the 2nd week of this podcast but isn’t for me.

Great “bite-sized” nuggets of truth from the word of God delivered by two passionate and engaging guys. What’s not to love? This should be in every Christian man’s rotation.
