What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

EDIT ZERO: Woah woah, what is going on? From what I understand, Season 8 JUST ended, and you guys are ALREADY begging for season 9? Be patient, please! They have to write storylines and characters, make decisions, VOICE ACT. I’m sure they’re trying their hardest to make some entertainment for you, and you’re being impatient. Please, make sure you treat them with kindness, and (to the parents) this is probably the only ACTUAL helpful review you will find because others are giving their small children phones and letting them run wild. So the reviews are mostly children-made (which is great, but you learn nothing about it) The following will teach you about the podcast and why your child shall listen to it. (I say shall because this is NOT optional.) EDIT ONE: If you’re looking for a podcast for your children to listen to, power their imagination capacity, and the ability to come up with fun ideas (which is the same thing but pretend it’s not), then SP (Story Pirates) is what you are looking for. I listened to this from when I was 3-7, (i am 11 now, for context.) and my imagination grew stronger by a large amount— in fact, if I hadn’t listened to SP, I wouldn’t have had the ability to come up with my own genuine story— and I don’t mean a podcast episode. I mean a novel. However, I recommend not having someone over 9 start with it, unless they choose to. I fear that I partly don’t like this because I’m too mature for it by now, but seriously, it is a wonderful podcast to nurture creativity into children. OKAY, this next bit is partly criticism towards the show, and fan base. Don’t get me wrong, SP is great and all, but it FELL OFF. storylines don’t connect, and the only real pull is the stories, not songs, or the actual storyline, but the children’s stories (which is a great feature.) It used to be my favorite, but now I think I’d rather listen to something that isn’t designed for small children. And to the old drama about all the hate on the LGBTQIA+ episode; ONE, let people be people, and ITS A FICTION WORK. TWO, why are you hating on it? It’s about a prince that wants to be a princess from what I remember. you’re not the princess. She’s trying her best. THREE, it’s important for kids to learn about different communities during their growth. The fanbase is bad enough— and when I say that, I mean the older fans. They all say they “want (insert male character) and (insert female character) to kiss and get married. Mind you, this is a podcast for small children, in a range of 3+ I doubt three year olds would like to listen to a wedding. People.. misuse the reviews, but since the fanbase is almost entirely children, that isn’t much of a problem. Though, in general, for small children, this is a wonderful podcast. This podcast so nice my kids listen to it before they go to sleep and they love it.😍 we also got creator club and that has been a huge time saver because now we don’t have to listen to the ads while listening to this amazing podcast.

I love dogs 715 · Aug 2026

We started with the Cat in the Hat, and I laughed along with my kids. And thankfully we found the creators behind that podcast were actually the Story Pirates. We immediately bought the subscriber edition bc we basically are binging our way through each episode. I have a 3 and 5 year old and this is the only time in the day (or car) where we are actively engaged in the comedies, songs, and storylines. Keep up the great work!!

Emily E. Bennett · Dec 2024

this podcast raised me, i listened to this every night age 8-11. i’m about to be in highschool and i still think about story pirates daily

Elliot ‼️ · Dec 2024

The ads take up too much of the podcast time. I heard 3-5 minutes of content and 10 minutes of ads. This has potential, but needs a lot of work.
