Tall tales from Reddit are just the starting point for these popular hour-long reaction videos. Host Shayne Topp delights and disgusts his couch of guests (various Smosh cast members) with a themed collection of posts from Reddit, prompting hilarious commentary. “Reddit Stories” is posted every Saturday, and delves into personal anecdotes of friendship, romance, revenge, and beyond.

Most of the time I find the show entertaining and fun. However, at times there’s a lot of screaming and stuff that is nonsensical to the non-viewing audience. Not a great podcast for relaxing but a good one for when you’re feeling a little punchy. The add placement is the worst I’ve ever experienced from any podcast that I listen to. Sometimes they will get two words out after an ad and another ad pops up. The timing of the ads seems completely random and makes it hard to follow the story at times.
Not belittling to Gen Z! Very helpful for young people like me. I want to defend this podcast against a review I saw on here saying that the hosts would frequently group their generation (presumably Gen Z) all into one mix and frequently belittle them. Well, as a young Gen Z, I disagree. I’m on the younger side of Gen Z. I’ve never felt attacked or belittled by this podcast. This podcast has helped me improve my own life through analysis of how I behave and react. It has given me a great perspective for things like how boundaries actually work, what respect actually looks like, how important respect is, how to laugh at myself, how to recognize when my emotions are influencing how I react to certain things, etc. I could go on, but my point is that this podcast has helped me a lot for my own introspection. Sure, the hosts are human and thus aren’t able to give the perfect perspective on everything, but I really do think they try hard to offer good perspectives on the situations they read about. Additionally, this podcast actively discourages the toxic masculinity man-o-sphere content that is flooding the internet and ruining many young men’s lives. I would recommend anyone give it a listen.
The show and the crew are phenomenal and have helped me get through long commutes, flights, and boredom with a smile on my face and a chuckle here and there. But man, something has to be done about the ad placement. You will be listening to them talk and then out of nowhere an ad will play often mid-conversation and I think “ok whatever I’ll just wait it out or fast forward.” The ad will end and TWO SECONDS LATER the same 2 ads will play AGAIN! I don’t think I can handle Mario Lopez telling I me to go get a Loaded Quesadilla from El Pollo Loco one more time. There is a clear break between stories where the ads make sense to be placed. So close to perfection guys. If there is anything to be done, please look into it. Otherwise, keep up the good work!
I get that shows need sponsored ads to continue their content. The problem is they interrupt the flow of the podcast. It’ll cut to an ad break, the show comes back in w/ 1-2 sentences then it’s another ad interrupting the show. It makes it hard to keep listening & not feel at least temporarily lost.
You know, for a podcast that doesn’t require too much research and it requires no preparation because everyone gives their own commentary, there are too many ads and this podcast has terrible ad placement. I’ll click to skip one reddit story and the “sponsor” section is actually a continuation of the skipped story and the “sponsor” comes during mid-sentence of a current story where the juicy details are said. What’s up smosh? Even your videos have ads every five minutes on YT. Stop exploiting your fan base
Way too many ads. This last episode had an ad at the end and start of every episode. Like there was more than 20 minutes of ads in this episode. I actually love this podcast, but I’m leaving a one star review in hopes that this feedback is seen.
