SmartLess - Podcast Rankings and reviews

Part of my weekly routine is listening to Smartless. Funny, easy banter between friends who have a genuine affection and appreciation for each other. I appreciate that I get a glimpse of their views on things without it being an endless diatribe about their opinions (as so many podcasts are). Also grateful for the frequent and encouraging support of men’s mental health with honest sharing and mutual support among the hosts and guests about fatherhood, the value of friendships, and navigating the growing pains of becoming a real man. It’s a welcome and refreshing alternative to the meathead bro dude faux masculine posturing that is so prevalent in popular media today. It’s a testament to the hosts that a pandemic hobby has become so successful as to attract all the A list talent and even a sitting President. Kudos on all the success and thanks for all the actual laugh out loud moments.

My son (13) and I just got home from a road trip, 3911 miles to be exact and we listened the entire time! Ever wonder what it takes to make a teenager smile? It’s smartless! We laughed, we cried, we talked it was amazing how much fun smartless created on our road trip. Thank you all so much for joining us on our road trip. I hope you keep it going!!!

These guys keep my Monday mornings worth getting out of bed for. Every Monday I can’t wait to see who pops up as the new guest.
The three of them play off of each other so well and I have listened to every single guest so far! Love the show keep it up guys it truly does make some of us laugh 😂

What I appreciated was that it was NOT a joke fest (only) but a thoughtful, natural conversation among all five guys. The emotional tribute near the end by Sean was
touching and amazing in its honesty, as was the post-interview conversation among the hosts. Your friendship and joy creating this show together is what makes it so special.

I used to love this podcast and never missed an episode from the beginning. It was my companion on walks and made me LOL. It has become too political (one-sided and didactic) plus they seem to be running out of good guests and conversation. I need to quit listening before I stop enjoying these guys as entertainers. BTW, I have voted exclusively for Democrats for the past 40 years. You are pushing voters to the right.

I do like all 3 interviewers, but every time I try to listen to an episode because I’m excited about the guest, their constant interruptions and stories about themselves make it difficult to get through. Just feels very imbalanced between hosts and guests, to the point where it doesn’t feel like an interview anymore. Unfortunate, because they’re all smart guys and get some amazing guests.
