I watched and rewatched Veep obsessively during the Trump years; I think it helped me understand and process the idiocy of politics. To this day, whenever I pop on a favorite episode (like “Testimony”), my family members look at me incredulously and ask, “You’re watching Veep AGAIN?” My response? “Let me have joy!” Also, it takes at least 6 viewings per episode to catch all of the jokes. Thank you, Tim and Matt, for the insider perspective. You should all be so proud of this art you co-created!

The background and insights from Second in Command have made me love my favorite show even more. Tim and Matt do a great job of highlighting all of the things that make Veep special. The guest interviews are always great, I love the different perspectives we get to hear. I look forward to this podcast every week

I’m very picky with my rewatch podcasts. There are so few good ones. But so far, this is one of the good ones. I mean, in episode 0, they talk to a memory expert to see how accurate they will be in their recollections about the show. It’s clear they do their research, and I like how they talk about the show in the context of today’s political climate.
Update: Too much random guest talk, not enough episode breakdown. A little too scattered and unprepared overall.

This show started out great, I love Veep and loved hearing the hosts and guests go through each episode with behind the scenes info and extra tidbits about the show. I learned about the actual A Woman First: First Woman book from this show! However, over time, the hosts stopped discussing the episodes and just focused on “inside baseball” industry talk and their guests’ careers. I started fast forwarding through episodes, then I started skipping entire episodes, and now — only a few episodes into season 5 — I’m unsubscribing altogether. I want to hear about the show and the episodes, not your anecdotes and unending praise for industry people who have nothing to do with the show.
Also, Matt is hilarious but Tim takes the industry talk way too seriously.
