Rotten Mango is easily my favorite true crime podcast of all time. Stephanie has a true gift for storytelling and the level and depth of research into the cases never ceases to amaze me. I appreciate the coverage of global true crime cases so much, as virtually none of them are covered in traditional western media. Also, Stephanies husband behind the camera always asks insightful and great clarifying questions. I cannot recommend this podcast enough to everyone in my life!!

This podcast really goes into the wildest cases from all around the world with dedicated translators and correct research. I love the respect they show towards the victims’ families and loved ones, while still making funny remarks. This podcast also has stunning narration (seriously Stephanie, you should be like a voice actor or something) that makes the stories seriously engaging. Even when stories are heartbreaking they’re told in such a talented and respectful way. It’s told like a story, not like a documentary where the narrator’s voice is monotoned and there’s eerie music. Not a fan of the ads, but this is still the best true crime podcast like EVER.

Let me start by saying that I just started listening to your podcast the other day, and I can't stop. I'm already 12 episodes in within 3 days.
I love your personality, I love that you do this podcast with your husband because his reactions are just everything lol, I love all of the details you give, I love how long the episodes are, I love that you don't hold back your opinion, and I love that you don't censor anything. I LOVE EVERYTHING about your podcast. 10/10 recommend to every true crime junkie!

I watch & listen to a lot of true crime stuff and am addicted to Asian dramas so Stephanie does episodes and videos of things I’m interested in and her empathy and emotional understanding of the people she talks about is so impressive. Even if I’ve seen videos of a topic she covers before, I always learn something new which tells me the research they’ve done is extensive, they put a ton of work into presenting it to us. I also love her delivery of the stories and that she gives the victims of each story, the respect, kindness and empathy they deserve. 🫶

The narrator’s voice was so fast that I actually checked my settings for speed. It’s like she just drank a gallon of espresso before an audition for a local theatre.
Made me agitated listening to her.
And lord have mercy, she says “blood splatter.” Splatter?? If you’re doing true crime podcast, you should know it’s spatter.
I couldn’t get through one episode.

True crime is a sensitive topic that I don’t think should be treated as lightly as it is in todays day. Which makes me glad Stephane donates to organizations regarding assault, crime, etc.

but, the dumbing down of words for censorship is a bit upsetting. Like you are talking about horrible things anyways but you won’t say rape, you won’t even say sexual assault, it’s just “SA”. I get this is so YouTube doesn’t demonize but it makes light of the situation.

I also find it a bit distasteful to reenact a victim/ perpetrators dialogue, trying to show their character. Even if it is in a positive light it’s just weird to me. Like if I was killed neeevvver put words in my mouth period. I would much rather hear family/friend testimonials non reenacted.

Last point but if you have to change the victims names because they want to stay anonymous… mabye you shouldn’t be making content from it.
Hot take but they just want that part of their lives in the past, not have it come up again for millions to see again.

Overall I think Stephanie’s content is trying so hard to be “good” that it in turn dumbs down serious topics. Imo true crime should be a no theatrics, just the information, to best respect victims.

Also many episodes for months have been cutting off at the end, repeating itself.
