As a budding socialist organizer this podcast has been very helpful in exposing me to and explaining revolutionary theory in a clear but nuanced way. As well as helping me sharpen and refine my analysis. And I can listen at work rather than having to set large periods of time aside for reading!! My favorite episodes have been on contradiction by mao and what is to be done by Lenin. Solidarity y’all.

Breht and Alyson give detailed analysis of historical Communist and Marxist texts. As anyone who has read Marxist literature knows, it is vast, thick, and sometimes in need of a second (or third) read before grasping the deep concepts. On most episodes, they take an important work and ask each other questions they had on the books. Both of their answers spawn deep discussions that really bring the nuances in the writings to the surface.
After every episode I’ve listened to, I feel like I have a better comprehension of not only the books they are discussing, but a deeper understanding of why moving in this direction is our species’ best chance of reaching our potential, or at least not ruining the planet.
Even if you aren’t a Communist or commie-curious, the discussions are thought provoking in a completely non idealistic way. Even understanding different perspectives in history keep me coming back.
