Hands down the best sports podcast out there. David delivers an unmatched behind the curtains perspective of baseball and other sports that no other podcast or platform provides. He pulls no punches and tells it exactly how it is. An absolute must listen for any sports fan! Love you too Coca!!
Nothing Personal is consistently the best pod that there is. Every day, every week and every month David Samson entertains, informs and uplifts. I never miss a show.
I’m new to NPDS but not David Samson so had some sort of idea going in what to expect. Have been blown away by the variety of topics and approach by Samson, definitely a good listen! Also- the sit downs with Lebatard folks have been great!
He gives more details and context than other podcasts, and is great at “here’s how this works behind the scenes.” Lots of other sports commentators assume we know the ins and outs of how salary caps work, contract structures, etc. David explains that side of sports really well because of his experience as a Marlins exec.
This show is less a podcast and more a vanity mirror for a man who mistakes bluster for wisdom. David Samson packages arrogance, revisionist storytelling, and relentless self‑promotion as “insider insight,” but underneath it’s all ego-fueled spin. He weaponizes charisma to excuse bad decisions, dodge accountability, and rewrite narratives in ways that benefit him — not the fans, not the players, not anyone who actually cares about the sport. Listening feels like being lectured by someone who believes complexity is a smokescreen for cruelty. He’s smug, tone‑deaf, and habitually dismissive of anyone who calls him out. When controversy hits, Samson’s reflex is theatrical contrition or performative victimhood — never honest accountability. The result is a show that frequently crosses from sharp analysis into thinly veiled self-justification. If you want clear, honest breakdowns of sports business, look elsewhere. If you crave lectures from a man who treats people as chess pieces and treats public sympathy like a PR tool, this is your carnival. I won’t be back — unsubscribe, unfollow, and don’t fund this brand of manufactured sincerity. 1 st
