THE JOKE CLIPS ARE TOO QUIET! Compared to the Intro volume, the jokes are consistently almost silent. Even compared to the other podcasts (or ad) in my playlist, it’s VERY noticeable. To the point of being annoying. Out of the 100’s of pods I listen to, from dozens of makers, this one is a major auditory outlier bc the intro is LOUD, but the joke clip is (way too quiet). It’s literally almost silent by comparison. ALWAYS!! Every morning! For 3+ years, I’ve been stuck with this choice: Either the intro blows my eardrums out… or the jokes are too quiet to hear. Even at normal volume, on a big speaker, the jokes are too quiet to hear. Whatever volume preset y’all have set for the joke clips needs to be adjusted UP by about +5db to +10db. PLEASE! I’m not an audio person, I dunno if those are exact numbers. So I guess.. just… LISTEN TO YOUR OWN PODCAST! ONE TIME! You will see what I mean, instantly. I’m shocked it’s taken so long… TL;DR MAKE VOLUME PRESET FOR JOKE CLIPS GO UP! MATCH LOUDNESS OF INTRO!! (and most other podcasts) PLEASE!! OMG… -__-; Otherwise the podcast is great, I listen every morning and have found a bunch of great comedians because of it. Kept my Netflix sub for that reason. Mostly. I’m shocked no one at Netflix has bothered to listen to their podcast, even ONE time, & notice this obvious mistake. …but I’m even more shocked that nobody else has said anything about it yet -_ô? It’s consistent across multiple speakers and headphones. It’s not me. It’s YOU Netflix. Thank you.
Makes my day funnier, and I like hearing comedians who are new to me!
It’s a great way to become introduced to new comics, you get a quick piece of their stand up and don’t have to listen to a full set if you end up not being interested in a specific person. If you do end up enjoying the piece you like, find the full set on Netflix and enjoy. Highly recommend.
This format of a few minutes of joking each day is refreshing. What a great way to start may day - with laughing. If a comedian is really funny, then I’ll follow up and watch the whole set on Netflix.
A fun idea for a daily dose of stand-up humor that fails to live up to its potential. Poor acoustics and low-volume recording by usually mediocre comics (only occasional really funny bits) interspersed with visual bits that don’t translate to audio (nothing funnier than mime on the radio!) make this much less than it could be. Luckily, it’s only a few minutes invested/wasted and there’s an occasional pay-off, plus it’s easy to skip the bad ones.
I can’t remember what I was listening to or watching when I heard about Netflix joke of the day. It seemed like a great idea. Hear a joke, discover new comedians all while combating the isolation of staying safer at home. I could not have been more wrong. With rare exceptions the “jokes” are mostly misogynistic, and the comedians (mostly men)... I would be completely shocked if this podcast content isn’t curated by 100% men. It seems like the joke was on me.
