I love their mix of true crime information along with their own stories. I laugh every episode. They are both very relatable and authentically funny.
Every time MFM does a historical or biographical episode, I start out by thinking, “I don’t know if I want to learn today,” haha, but then they prove me wrong and have me tearful and cheering numerous times. Georgia’s solo episode featuring the story of Jack “Jackie” Robinson is no exception. Just great. Thank you for providing so many genres of topics and interests. You are two of my favorite people and I am constantly reminded why I’ve been a listener for ten years. Cheers to Karen, Georgia, and the whole team (past and present) 🩷
Newer listened here. You guys are so my vibe! Funny, down to earth, relatable! I couldn’t stop laughing at something said on one of the last episodes I listened to. It was “religion shouldn’t have merch” I was in the grocery store doing late night shopping (you know when there are very little people in the store) and heard one of you say that and just busted out laughing! Pretty sure all 6 people in the store thought I was possessed! Fun times!!
This podcast is hilarious and Karen & Georgia are so good at adding a sweet twist on dark or horrifying stories, and I will never forget Paul Onions, Tony Jackett, and Jimmy Buttons.
Normally I’m a big fan of the show and have been listening since 2019, but I was very disappointed by the last episode (#544). Georgia told a story that had been covered in much greater depth by The Knife, one of Exactly Right Media’s own podcasts, just a couple months prior. I listen to both podcasts, plus K & G encourage listeners to check out other ERM podcasts, so it was very disappointing to hear a repeated story from such a short time ago. They should have known that listeners of both podcasts would have heard that story already, and there was no new information provided in Georgia’s retelling of it.
I used to be a huuuge MFM fan from the very beginning, they slowly got worse and worse with banter and not really caring about research. I took a break for a couple years and today I decided to give them another try. After having to fast forward 20 mins through banter and ads I finally got to the actual storytelling and THEY LITERALLY JUST READ OFF A PAGE, they don’t even read well, they’re monotone reading, and constantly stumble over the words on the page, and it was incredibly painful to have to listen to Georgia’s apathetic tone and Karen’s weird quips that didn’t even seem to fit in. This entire podcast has devolved. Save yourself the trouble and listen to people who actually care about research, story telling, and victim advocacy. So disappointed that my once fave pod is painful to even listen to now.
