This podcast is amazing! 🙏🏾 I listen to plenty of crime podcasts (TCAT both, Court Junkie, Murders in America, Inhuman, Sword & Scale, Criminology, etc) and she is another wonderful story teller! Cases are very detailed and thorough in their coverage of them. She tells the stories in a way where you get a perfect picture of not only the crime committed but the life of the victim too. Also has an easy voice to listen to hours on end ( I listen at work and home). Their music gets you very in tune with the cases. I appreciate this podcast a lot. If you like True Crime, give a listen. Thank you to the host and the whole production team!

Ok so I like this show a lot, however, I listened to the Sakia Gunn story when it was released and it really changed my view of the show b/c I know this story well; I am familiar with Sakia’s family and I vividly remember when she passed. 1. The host pronounced the her name incorrectly the entire episode. An indicator that she did not research the victim at the very least. 2. A lot of the statistics presented to illustrate the city of Newark where Sakia is from were wrong. For example, while crime in Newark is proportionate to most cities of its size, it isn’t on the top 10 most dangerous cities now nor was it in 2004 when Sakia passed. It’s also not “cheap,” but actually pretty expensive compared to most US cities. While these things might seem minor, they’re important to the picture that was painted in the story. The amount of incorrect info made me question the validity of the “facts” on the show and the host’s actual interest in these stories. It seems as if she doesn’t do her own research— or maybe writing, just simply reads a script without fact checking.

I couldn’t tell it was your first one; there is another podcast where the host some times interviews people and it’s so awful I can’t listen to it; this was a well researched, well presented interview with well prepared questions. You didn’t talk over your guest; I think you struck the right balance. Like I said, I have PTSD from this other podcast, but this I listened to twice in case I missed anything the first time;-)! I want you to interview me! On the off chance I’m amusing and entertaining.

I appreciate the genuine feelings the host gives to difficult stories. So often I find podcasters don’t share their opinion. I love this podcast and always await more.

The Ai voice will drive you crazy. Super hard to follow. Doesn’t introduce characters or explain how or why things are happening. Only uses last names and suddenly there is another person you have no idea when or where they came in, if they’re a male or female. Very hard to keep people straight. If they’re a suspect or witness. Just all around very hard to follow. The stories would actually be good if done by a better story teller. Seems like it’s just reading articles with no deeper information. The length of ads is absolutely absurd. 20 minutes is insane! Try “People are the worst”. I absolutely love theirs.

I used to very much enjoy this podcast, however, more so recently there are so many ads. 5 to 7 minutes of straight ads several times throughout the episode is quite distracting/annoying. Forcing a listener to either subscribe to avoid ads or sit and skip through the ads incessantly is going to cost you listeners.
