Murder In America - Podcast Rankings and reviews

This is by far the best true crime podcast out there. This is the only show that I had to turn off because the subject matter was so disturbing. They do not gloss over the uncomfortable parts, give “trigger warnings” (eye roll) or censor the raw human depravity like others do. Their calm storytelling, sound clips, brutal truth, and sound effects make it a fully immersive listening experience. It’s not for everyone but it is definitely for me.

I love this podcast. Both hosts deliver the stories in a straight-forward manner with no goofy banter and interjected. Very meat and potatoes and I mean that as a compliment. An absolute must for any true crime fan.

Detailed coverage of very dark material. Kudos on that. But having said that, I’d advise skipping the epic soundtrack music. Listeners don’t need the story of the Luby’s massacre set to what sounds like music from a Lucasfilm production. It is a tad disrespectful to the very real victims, and just not needed. But, again, overall a good job.

I am a huge fan of true crime, so I was pleasantly surprised when I came across Murder in America. I enjoy the stories that are shared, not to mention the storytelling & sound effects that are phenomenal. I love the way the hosts tell these stories - unlike the cringy hosts of Crime Junkie. 5/5 stars!
