Listen to this if you need motivation. I listened to it before my softball games as I was getting ready and it made me think about not only my physical self, but my mental self. My favorite episode is the one about madness (Madness Will Set You Free, I think). It made me think about my weird self at school, and how people judge me and stare at me and talk about me behind my back. I thought about the “popular” girls on my softball team. And how they talked about me and “what’s wrong with me.” And I told myself as I listened to that episode, “Let them think. Let them stare. Let them talk. BUT BE. YOUR. SELF. No matter what they’re talking about.”

This podcast is an absolute gem. Ignore the crowd who complain about the ads. They’re the same group who wouldn’t subscribe and pay if the podcast was offered that way. Nothing is free! I love this podcast and it’s now part of my morning routine.

There are good speeches here but they are castrated by overproduced canned music, in an attempt to intensify the experience. The background music is mixed too high, and it is sometimes hard to hear the speakers. Good motivational speeches do not need music, and music makes them quite forgettable. One thing to remember is that when you play music against a speech, brain does not retain the meaning of the words. Something to think about.
