LAN, I love your podcast. I love your voice. I love the motivational speeches. I usually skip through ads bc I have to for every podcast I listen to. My only complaint is that the audio is never consistent. I find myself having to change the volume for every episode :( pls fix that.
Allana is amazing. Her vibe. Her voice. Her energy. She is so raw, down to earth, and real in the most beautiful way. I don’t understand the negative comments on her podcast simply because of ads. The ads are no biggie. This is definitely a podcast where she incorporates lots of fun chit chat into the episodes. I personally LOVE hearing little side notes and takes on things. Makes it so much more personable and fun to listen to!! Note: I have heard podcasts where it is either quite boring or overstimulating with bouncing of the walls rambling, but that is not the case here with Alana.
I’ve never written a review for a podcast before, and am still dipping my toes into this world. I’ve been having a hard time recently and have been searching for a podcast/ episode that could help me just take a moment and hear something reassuring/ relating to what I’ve been feeling and Lan’s latest podcast did it for me - heck, I even teared up?! I found a sense of calm after listening and felt like it helped open up my mind a little. I’ve tried listening to quite a variety of different podcasts and speakers but I’m really enjoying this one so far ☺️. I’m about to listen to my third one after I publish this review 🫶🏼.
There is good advice presented for the few podcasts I’ve listened to but there’s like 3-5 mins worth of ads in the beginning and 3-5 mins worth of ads at the end. it makes it difficult to listen to what is being presented because you have to actively search for when she starts discussing the topic the podcast is about. The amount of substance provided seems pretty small compared to the amount of ads in the podcast.
I want to enjoy this podcast but the production needs to be stepped up and the content isn’t that engaging. It’s nothing ground breaking. It’s just kind of like listening to a friend talk. As many other reviews have stated AT LEAST a 1/3 of an episode will be ads. And in the episode I’m currently listening to the audio cuts in the middle of the sentence she’s speaking and it cuts directly into a VERY loud ad (voiced by her). Production seems like a work in progress with some bugs to work out, but saying “Let’s get into the bulk of the episode” nearly 18 minutes into a 30 minute episode is insane. Almost 20 minutes of intro and ads in a 30 minute episode. **UPDATE I realized she’s nearly 200 episodes in so I don’t understand why the ads and production value are still what they are.
I enjoy passively listening to this podcast while working or cooking, but I’ve noticed the host discuss topics that she appears to know little about. Just one example - I was listening to the episode about her daily routine and she kept referring to the circadian rhythm as “Arcadian rhythm.” I think, when talking to an audience and presenting thoughts as advice, it’s important to have at least a very basic level of knowledge of what you’re discussing.
