Love this podcast, love these women. Great attention to detail, great research, interesting cases, and they never lose sight of the fact that these events happened to real people, so the victims are treated with respect.
The show tries to keep things light while dealing with some very heavy material. They don’t hesitate to voice their own thoughts and opinions, and they have a lot of banter and go on tangents sometimes….some people might not like that in a true crime show, but ya know…it is their show and they can say whatever they want. I find it entertaining and it’s like I’m hanging out listening to my younger sisters talk.
Thanks to Ash and Alaina for their hard work and for providing me with great, informative, interesting cases to listen to in my day-to-day life! xoxoxo

Alaina and Ash have been my favorite mistresses of morbidity for years! I started listening back in 2020 during quarantine, and they are hands down my favorite podcast. The cases are always well researched and told in a way that is respectful of the victims and their families. The paranormal episodes are also intriguing and entertaining. Both hosts bring their own flavor of weird to the podcast, and this weirdo can’t get enough. I always feel like I’m hanging out with old friends, and I look forward to new episodes every week. Keep up the ghoulishly great work, ladies!

Ash and Alaina have kept me company during some of my loneliest moments and never fail to make me laugh, even while so sensitively and compassionately navigating and discussing such heavy topics. The love and appreciation I have for you two is unmatched. You manage to show up with such love and compassion for every tale that you share, and it’s so obvious to your listeners, the amount of love and care that you handle each case with. I live for your banter, and I have the utmost gratitude for your unwavering commitment to being kind and compassionate humans! Please never stop being you! I’ve been listening for years, and I’ve never found a podcast that makes me as happy and cures the loneliness quite like yours’. I love you. We all love you. And Alaina, I am so beyond excited and proud of you and your accomplishments as an author. Sending the absolute most love and gratitude to both of you wonderful ladies.

The hosts do not stay on topic. They tell the story in a “entertaining” manner rather than showing respect to the victims. Take notes from crime junkie. Create a segment after the episode and make it optional for the listener to listen to all the off topic conversations after the podcast rather than before it starts. This podcast has potential but is too immature and disrespectful.

Like many, I used to love this podcast, and still appreciate many aspects of it. I like the banter (and swearing), but then realized that I was fast forwarding through much of the talk at the beginning because it was mostly about tv shows. I enjoy the old cases so don’t mind the shift in focus, but for awhile there was a flurry of listener tales, which I never listen to.
The thing that really made me stop listening is the LONG digressions to excoriate the criminal for how evil they are, etc. We KNOW. We chose to listen to a true crime podcast. I finally decided to count how many times I hit the forward button when a rant started: ten. So that’s a roughly five minute rant on how sick/twisted/evil the murderer is? Even they sounded bored, performing yet another loop of murder equals bad!
I’m ok with ads, even if they’re annoying, because get that bag, women! However, I think podcasting has morphed into a beast they don’t quite have control of and the quality has taken a big hit.
Since I’m laying out all my gripes, I also suggest looking up unfamiliar terms and concepts either before or during recording. I don’t care about mispronounced words, but several times digressive rants resulted from not having a definition or context for usage, making for painful listening. This is especially key for exploring historical crimes. A previous reviewer pointed out one such example: “deaf and dumb” is an old-fashioned term for deaf and mute. The long-ago reporter wrote that the lady couldn’t talk, not that she was unintelligent!
Anyway, I wish the Morbid crew the best and hope things work out well, thanks for the years of stories. This podcast is just not for me any longer.
