What I love most about Money Rehab is how relatable Nicole makes everything. When she talks about her own experiences with money mistakes, it feels so real and unfiltered. It’s refreshing to hear someone acknowledge that it’s okay to stumble, as long as you keep moving forward. I’ve started applying her tips on building better habits, and for the first time, I actually feel hopeful about my financial future.

Nicole offers such a refreshingly approachable and fun take on everything from paying off debt, negotiating salary, asking for a raise, saving for retirement, renting vs owning... basically everything we were never taught and didn’t realize we were missing out on $$$$. She even adds a dash of life skills 101 like boundary setting and saying no. An absolute must-listen if your ready to level up your financial life.

Nicole is one of the few financial professionals that is able to give advice and teach people how to be financially literate in a way that everyone is able to understand. By coming out with these podcast episodes that are relevant to what is going on and making them relatable to nearly everyone, she is continuing to make a difference in many peoples lives beyond all she has already done. These episodes are short and to the point covering one question or aspect at a time, which is so helpful to those with a busy schedule. Highly recommend you take the time and listen to this podcast!

Nicole makes personal finance interesting and palatable for those who may not have an extensive background in the technical aspects but her advice/logic/reason is sound. I have an undergrad in accounting, a masters in finance, and am a CPA, but I’m constantly learning new things because she takes the time to dig into the tax code, etc. to learn new strategies and share them with us. Give this podcast a listen—you may learn something new! Highly recommend.

It feels like the host is straining her voice, in a very canned and occasionally squeaky delivery style, and it’s just hard to listen to. I couldn’t get much out of the content due to how greatly it pained me to hear the audio, I could only take it for a few minutes before I had to stop. I also feel like so many other podcasts do a more credible and more entertaining job of covering personal finance. I’m confused how this is getting such a high overall rating other than the backing of a good PR team. I sadly would not recommend to anyone I know.

The episode I listened to was the Maria Menounos one, so I don’t know if the others are different, but I found this episode straight disgusting. The host and guest talking at length about how hard it I to be rich after being “poor” and about how she has to remind herself to spend money and buy cars. The whole, “I worked hard and now I’m a millionaire” story just perpetuates the bootstrap fallacy and harms people who weren’t born with Maria’s perfect storm of brains and beauty and charm (and middle class financial background). The whole conversation was so off-putting and lacked recognition of the advantages and luck that she did have.
