So many creators nowadays fully lean into clickbait, outrage-inducing headlines, and all sorts of attention grabbing tactics meant to lure in listeners. This contributes to tribalism and the growing polarization of Western culture. This podcast is the antidote to that. What I love so much about Chris’ show is that he (somehow) manages to maintain neutral and asks incredibly poignant questions of his guests. He challenges every idea, and stress tests ideas and guests he both disagrees and agrees with. On the internet balanced and nuanced conversations are extremely hard to come by, and that’s why I’ve subscribed to Modern Wisdom for over 2 years now. It’s a corner of the internet where you won’t find a cult leader stoking the fires tribalism in his echo chamber, it’s a smart guy asking smart questions and having smart questions with some of the brightest minds of our generation. Thank you, Chris.

Been listening to this pod for years and it’s only gotten better. Chris is great at interviewing, actively listening and asking good, well-phrased questions without interrupting or talking over the guest. It’s also clear he does a ton of research before each episode. You leave each one learning a little something (or a lot!), but mostly I appreciate the diversity and range of people he has on. You get introduced to ideas you never would have thought to look for but suddenly want to tell the world about. I'm honestly a little surprised this podcast isn't more well known, it deserves to be up there with the best imo. Anyway, my review on here is long overdue, I hope it helps!

I love the preparation that goes into every interview by Chris. Usually starts with a bang, draws in the guests and pull out amazing insights. Levels of quality in audio and video are always top! Very powerful please to discover new amazing people and get the best from people we already know. Epic!

He’s a good host with some awesome guests. But I think it comes off as someone who really doesn’t have much education or knowledge in the topics he’s covering. Goes pretty far off the deep end in some topics which I don’t think is helpful for public knowledge and staying focused on the big important topics instead of “majoring in the minor” as Peter Attia would say

I wanted to like this show (even though those recommending it seemed like angry incel types). I gave it a shot. Some decent guests, but a LOT of really “dude bro” vibes and not a lot of clear thinking. It is clear to me that the host prefers clicks and counter-culture nonsense to real conversation, and while he's not a terrible host, he’s also not a very good one either.
Instead of this podcast, try:
The Jordan Harbinger Show
Sam Harris (if you can stand the attitude)
Andrew Gold (although he is obsessed with scientology lately)
