As a former punky-girl who spent her formative years in the mid 80s through the early 90s immersed in alternative music culture, shows and working in record stores, I was looking forward to listening to this. The only problem? The constant advertiser interruptions disrupt the flow of the story and interviews somewhat. I get needing sponsor support, but placement matters. Docked one star in mild protest. Commercials aren't punk, Baby.

Otherwise it's a rad musical history timeline trip spiked with a murder mystery that is worthy of proper investigation.

This is everything I’ve ever wanted in a podcast. History, mystery, murder. I love punk, I love LA, but I missed the glory days by a generation. What amazing insight into life then and come of the key players. The hosts made this feel authentic and real. I’m going to miss listening to this one every week. Do yourself a favor and give this a listen.

A great punk song is succinct... gets to the point - no flab or filler. This podcast, on the other hand, was stretched too thin. A great/interesting topic (done really well, overall) but what could've been a lean 6 episode series they milked into 10 episodes. (Still worth a listen, for sure.)

I really enjoyed this podcast, and you can really feel the love everyone had/has for Peter. It was also very interesting to learn about him, his influence, and the underground LA punk scene. Although it was well written, it really lacks an investigative journalistic perspective. I know they wanted to honor Peter and not have the podcast be super crimey, but it leaves a lot of reporting that still needs to be done in my opinion. For example, an easy way to rule out David Jove is if he had an alibi. The guy was always around people. If he was at the cave all night, that would probably be pretty easy to prove and rule him out as a suspect. His possible alibi is never discussed. Also, a journalist probably would have figured out a way to get the file from LAPD or at least more info out of them. I just feel like I was left with a lot of questions due to the lack of significant reporting outside of interviewing the people who knew Peter.
