The Marlon Brando series is truly the funniest thing I’ve heard in so long. I have burst out laughing countless times and in fact even had to brace myself against the shower wall because I was laughing so hard that I was crying and my sides were cramping and I was afraid I would fall… Run don’t walk!

I just discovered this podcast. I really like the chemistry between the two women. Love their sense of humor and gift of conversation. It’s interesting to revisit the 80s cases from my childhood; I am always surprised at things I forgot about or have a new perspective on. Personally, I’d prefer less profanity. Repeating the f-bomb isn’t necessary and is distracting. Overall though, this podcast is a keeper!

The true friendship shines through and is part of the reason this pod works so well; that plus the humor, the compassion, the stories and coverage (The Shootout At The OK Corral was brilliant); the food - everything here works.

I’m a fan of true crime, and a fan of comedy podcasts so I figured this would be my kind of jam. Plus I’m also into horror, and they were covering horror movies all July so I thought “even better!”, but man… I was sadly disappointed on all fronts.

Calling this either a comedy podcast or a true crime podcast is a stretch on both counts. Their “comedy” seems to boil down to just being intentionally vapid, and shallow. Like some half hearted “mean girls” vibe. I listened to a handful of episodes just to try and give it a fair shot, and every one of them seems to consist of them just sort of blandly chatting about the subject in this weird, indifferent, almost bored way, while laughing at their own “jokes” which seem to mostly be just extremely superficial observations of the type you’d expect to overhear from vapid high school kids.

Which brings me to the next problem. Though both hosts are in their 40’s and 50’s respectively, they both talk very much like bored, vapid teenagers, who don’t even seem to want to be there. The world “LIKE” is peppered liberally throughout every sentence “so, like, I feel like, Jason Voorhees, is very like… in a mood right now, you know?”. Every phrase they utter is stated like a question, in the same way unsure teenagers seem to speak, and every observation they make is always on such a base level. You learn nothing from listening to them speak. It’s more like overhearing a long tedious conversation between two very uninteresting people standing in line waiting in line for a latte at Starbucks, and neither of them seem to want to be there. Makes for some really dull listening :/
