I am heavy podcast listener and love Freakonomics. The topics are always relevant and insanely interesting. Stephen Dubner is masterful at taking seemingly simple topics, crafting them into a compelling narrative, and uncovering their complexity in terms anyone can understand. I can’t recommend this podcast enough!

I listen to a bunch of podcasts, and Freakonomics is in a class by itself: consistently interesting, informative, well sourced, entertaining and even occasionally humorous.I listen to it even when I’m not particularly interested in the topic because I know I will learn something new and be entertained at the same time. Dubner unfailingly asks the questions I would ask, or wish I would have thought of. Bravo

This is the best episode I have heard on the podcast. The presentation of the study findings were excellent. Easy to understand and thoughtful in the language choices. I cried just listening to it. I should also mention that I hold a seat on my county Foster Care Review Board. My husband and I are also parents to two wonderful boys we adopted from our state and we are former foster parents. I have been pondering this idea of prevention and family preservation in my graduate school research and this episode gave me a new perspective and direction. I am also a mechanical engineer of 15 years, so the facts are important to me and I found all of these very compelling. Thank you for creating this episode. I will be sharing it with many people.

The name of the podcast may lead you to think it’s going to be some far out intellectual, academic mumbo jumbo. But instead, it’s an extremely thoughtful and easily accessible conversation about interesting current events and topics that are relevant to our everyday lives. Steven Dubner is a stellar interviewer (and very smart guy) whose only agenda is to learn more from the experienced and knowledgeable guests he invites on the show. I eagerly await each weekly podcast. Do yourself a favor and CHECK IT OUT!

Please include more voices from women and other marginalized groups. I love the content of freakonomics but can’t recommend to others or to my hundreds of students because it’s so western male dominated; I’m concerned I’m getting a more biased perspective because of this.
