Episode 1 definitely caught my attention and pulled me in, but there was one glaring issue that annoyed me throughout the episode.
Locals repeatedly pronounced the town name of Wilkes-Barre, PA “correctly,” i.e. the way that the locals pronounce it (with a long e on the end.) The narrator insisted on continuing to mispronounce it. This is disrespectful and really distracting as a listener.
I want to keep listening and I really want to love this podcast. Please do some basic research on the towns you are visiting before recording for future episodes. These details actually do matter.

Awesome storytelling - but the Canadian voiceovers are distracting. And strange - considering 99% of these stories are USA based.

These are interesting stories, and unfortunately what can happen with communication breakdowns between neighbors. I just wish the acting component was not so dramatic. It takes away from the quality.

I’ve listened to almost all the episodes and an obvious pattern has emerged. Almost every story is about men with fragile egos who have access to guns. It’s so sick to bear witness to so many senseless deaths because men who can’t control their tempers have access to guns!

The extreme amount of sound effects and voice actors cause make it hard to follow the flow of the STORY. It’s very disjointed. It’s like they took random audio from the TV show, sliced it together, and said let’s just make this a podcast. I couldn’t get through the first episode.

Unnecessary music that is super loud and frankly sometimes the crescendo choices are in the wrong places. Easy to tell that witness testimonies are extremely edited. They don’t introduce the witnesses either, makes the podcast extremely confusing.
