Excellent series. Twists and turns you don’t see coming, very well researched, very well written, great storytelling. I wanted to binge the whole thing right away but I also wanted to savor it and look forward to the next episode. (All right, I binged it in the course of 5 days, lol). I really hope there is a Season 2.

This podcast tells a compelling story, but the over use of cliff hangers, time jumps, and cheesy sound effects distract from the narrative a bit. It’s also pretty predictable from the beginning where the story is going to end up, but it’s pitched as this great mystery with a shocking revelation. All this gives the podcast a sense of manufactured drama, though it is nonetheless a very well made and enjoyable show.

Gripping from the beginning, but does start to drag on in the middle. The jumping back and forth between dates was a little unnecessary. Overall it is a good and entertaining story; whether or not you believe it was true, false, or somewhere in the middle. It was fun to hear what happened and what this family believed (or didn’t) of it. I hope Extrasensory continues with more stories and isn’t a one season thing.

I believe that the best narratives engage in accurate, in-depth research and ultimately invite their audience to draw their own conclusions. As a person with a journalism degree and an appreciate for a great narrative, I would not have done a single thing differently. I think the best stories are those in which there are multiple perspectives. I glanced at a few reviews and see that people are irritated by a certain level of production when it comes to sound. To each their own, but I think it’s unfair to base an entire review on one element. Will Sharpe was a terrific host. I recommend this podcast to anyone who likes to listen to multiple perspectives and draw their own conclusions.

I went in expecting a good story but what I got was a repetitive, poorly constructed piece of narrative manipulation with silly sound effects. They took what few facts there were, leaned on secondary sources for episodes, twisted them into a pretzel, and presented them episodes long as the main narrative. All I could think "where's the actual evidence?". And the ending... don't even get me started..The whole thing felt dishonest and manipulative.

This had all the makings of a great story - weird, mysterious and true. But using fictionalized narrative, bad voice actors, and weak scripting to make it sound like an old school radio mystery robbed it of what might have made it compelling and unique. Disappointing.
