I listen to a lot of podcasts, and several of them are longform new stories. The killing list, from Embedded is probably the best and most compelling new story I have ever heard in this format. The research was extensive and the interviews we’re both chilling and awe inspiring.
You can’t listen to the story without getting emotionally involved in it. every episode leaves, you haunted and filled with anticipation for the next episode. It will forever change your perspective of the Pakistani government and military.

I like the podcast but the overly emotive, condescending narrator grates on the listener. It’s a serious topic. It seems the narrator assumes as a fact any questioning of a woman’s self identity is biased and off limits. I wanted to learn if in fact there are unfair advantages women with mixed biological characteristics have or is the concern misplaced. So far - I’m on episode four- the narrator’s mocking treatment of the issue doesn’t inform it just alienates this listener.

I was riveted by this story about my own state and listened to all 4 shows back to back. The Republican perspective was welcome as it seems no one is paying attention to what our state legislators are passing right under our noses. Kudos to these women for standing up for what is right. I wish more Republicans bucked the party line.
