Overall, the storytelling is decent, but the opinions of the host are…interesting. I understand questioning when a suspect takes back their confession, but this was a little much.
Do I think Dylan Glass is a liar? Kinda. But I’ve heard enough TC stories about false confessions, especially involving a Black “suspect,” that I am doubting the investigators/cops etc more than I doubt Dylan’s story to Kipe.
If it helps where my perspective is coming from, think Serial. The stories about who is telling the truth or not—if it’s the cops or the suspect(s)—and the false confessions are very parallel with this case. A Black man is coerced into making a false confession and years later takes it back saying he lied to get the cops to stop interrogating and torturing him. And people severely doubt it was false “because he confessed!”
The best investigative journalists question everything and everyone, even their own opinions or biases. This did not seem to happen in this pod. Everything else seemed fine I guess, but this didn’t scream genuine journalism to me.

If the podcast is done by Sean Kipe, listen to it. This is another fabulous collection by Mr. Kipe that takes you to place & people you’d never meet. I pray for the family to receive justice & hope the people involved will want to unload the burden of this senseless crime.

I thought this series to be filled with twists and turns. I don’t want to give anything away but I was convinced of one idea at the beginning and by the last episode I wasn’t so sure of anything anymore. Truly, masterful investigation work here with a lot to be considered before throwing in one’s own opinion!

To me, the killers are obvious and that’s so frustrating. The podcast is extremely well done and well researched and I highly recommend it!

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. Totally agree with other listeners who call this one repetitive. Constantly presenting rumors, detective's "feelings" on body language, and repeating the same "facts" over and over again got old so quickly. Not sure how there are so many good ratings. Boot lickers who see the justice system as an episode of Law and Order might like this one. Once you see the lack of depth though, it's hard to finish this one.

Finished and I feel like I know less than I did after the first episode. Every episode ends in a cliffhanger with no payoff, and now the season just did the same thing. Don’t waste your time.
