This story is very well told and compelling to the end. Jinx narrates without judgement yet also reveals *another* facet of our broken justice system, the use of Criminal Informants and the risks posed to their lives with little regard for their safety. Much reform needs to be done here, like in so many parts of the criminal justice system.

I’ve listened to more podcasts than I can count and I very rarely consider the narrator’s capabilities to be a podcast’s greatest asset; Jinx, however, is the unquestionable exception. The storyline is compelling, sure, but Jinx’ vocal pitch, cadence, and general delivery effortlessly nudge you into becoming ever-so-subtly engrossed in the listening experience without even realizing it! Wondery would do well to give this guy a raise and expand his narrating caseload.

I loved this podcast, and I really loved jinx’s storytelling. He told the story of Kemu with integrity, humanizing him and recognizing all nuance, and being critical of the fbis recruitment of Kemu as an informant and where they fell short in their promises to him, while also having respect for Sean as a human being who was sort of just trying her best in a flawed way. Really difficult to do, jinx is really talented. I could also tell it was a priority for Jinx to get the audience to care about Kemu deeply, and he did. Jinx did right by Kemu, and it’s so appreciated.

Super solid podcast! Reminds me of some of the older Wondery stuff - only 1-2 ad breaks, doesn’t waste time repeating information, informative and well-delivered, doesn’t try to garner sympathy for the “bad guy” of the story (a truly vile man in this case). I would’ve liked to see a little more focus on the effect Bergrin had on people rather than his early career though. Overall really solid, and I really liked the narrator!
